/ Overview:
A London commercial interior design studio, building spaces like an architect and branding them like a studio.
At Saltco, projects are led personally by Rufus Edmondson, an ARB-registered architect and interior designer who studied at The Bartlett, UCL and trained internationally, including a period at Herzog & de Meuron. He has led the design and technical delivery of major London commercial workspaces across all RIBA stages, from concept through to on-site delivery.
Most operators with a site to develop face a choice. An architecture practice that delivers a technically excellent space with no sense of the brand inside it, or a brand studio that has never produced a construction drawing. The result is either beautifully built and brand-blind, or well-branded and undeliverable.
We sit across both.
A design team that thinks like a brand and builds like an architect.

How we work
Our background runs from brand to digital to physical space, so we design a building that already knows the brand it carries. One architect-led studio shapes the identity, the signage and the space together, which means the detail holds up and the brand is in the room from the first sketch.
We follow the design-only model. Full design responsibility across RIBA Stages 1 to 4, site oversight at Stage 5, and snagging at handover. We produce the strategy, the drawings, the technical documentation and the specifications, then contractors build to them, with us coordinating and inspecting through to completion.
What sits outside our scope
We take full design responsibility through to handover. Two things we partner on rather than deliver ourselves:
Industrial product engineering, through a specialist partner
SaaS and app UX, outside what we do
For brand-led retail & activations
For brand-led retail, pop-ups and brand activations, the temporary and experiential end of our spatial work, see our Spaces page. Architecture & Interior Design is where we design and deliver the permanent space itself, to full RIBA rigour. Spaces is where the brand comes alive in retail and activations. Many clients engage both.
Our best work is with brands we have stayed with for years
Long Lane, a restored manor house reimagined as a wellness members' club, began as a full interior concept and a pitch deck built in parallel, the visualisations letting investors back a world rather than a set of drawings, and the funding round closed. For Hampton & Richmond FC, we led the design, technical delivery and investment deck for the phased redevelopment of Beveree Stadium, a much-loved local ground reimagined as a hub for sport, education and community, with a new league-compliant boardroom, a club shop, an academy wellness studio, and a material strategy of muted tones outside and bold club red and blue within.
For Dr Bravi at Thames, we took the rebrand into the building itself, a full interior and exterior refurbishment from concept and architectural drawings through planning and on-site project management, carrying the brand into reception, treatment rooms, signage and uniform, part of a four-year partnership. And at Becket House in the City of London, Rufus led the design and technical delivery of a plug-and-play Level 7 workspace for the Mercers, coordinating a Whole Life Carbon Assessment and specifying FSC-certified timber, Organoid vegan surfaces and 98% recycled Silicastone Terrazzo, delivered as the standout floor after three earlier phases.
